Day 1 Normandy

We depart the travel centre early this morning and make our way to Dover for the ferry to Calais . On arrival in France we continue to our hotel for our evening meal

Day 2  Pegasus Bridge & Arromanches (British Beaches)

Today after breakfast we visit Pegasus Bridge, the scene of the first actions of D-Day and spend some time in the memorial museum before continuing to the beaches where the British troops landed at Sword Beach and Gold Beach. We will also visit Arromanches , the site of Mulberry Harbour, the temporary harbour of which some parts can still be seen today.

Day 3 Omaha Beach & Overlord Museum (American Beaches)

Today is about the American Landings as we visit Omaha Beach and the new Overlord Museum

which chronicles the period of the Allied landing until the liberation of Paris. The collection was collected by someone who was both a witness to the conflict and involved in the reconstruction of Normandy. Personal items from individual soldiers and armoured fighting vehicles from the six armies in Normandy will be presented as a series of reconstructions showing over 35 vehicles, tanks and guns.

Day 4 Caen  & Bayeux

Today visit the Caen and Bayeux

Our first stop is the Caen Memorial which is a museum that tells the story of the 20th Century pre-1945 to the post-1945 period in a spectacular presentation of the events that had such an impact on European history. We will continue to Bayeux which was the first town liberated during the Battle of Normandy in 1944 and it is fittingly the home of a Museum dedicated to the Battle that raged for over 2 months across the region.
