This regal tour sees us visit the Queen’s weekend home of Windsor Castle, the chosen venue for the wedding of Prince Harry & Meghan Markle, beautiful Hampton Court Palace, impressive RHS Garden Wisley and the fascinating Brooklands Museum. Teamed with a stay at the newly refurbished Beaumont Estate Hotel, this tour is truly fit for a king, or queen!
Thursday: We depart the Travel Centre this morning and make our way south, with a stop en route. We aim to arrive at the hotel late afternoon.
Friday: This morning, we visit Brooklands Museum, the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation and the home of Concorde. Here we will have a 20-minute introductory talk. In the afternoon, we visit one of the greatest gardens in the world, RHS Garden Wisley, famed for its impressive gardens and magnificent glasshouse.
Saturday: We spend today in Windsor where we visit the Queen’s favourite weekend home, Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. We spend time exploring the impressive castle and St George’s Chapel, where many royal couples have married, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. In the afternoon, we have free time for lunch in the town before embarking on a scenic 1 ½ hour cruise from Windsor to Runnymede. Our journey takes us through the grounds of Windsor Castle and the pretty villages of Datchet and Old Windsor.
Sunday: Today, we have an opportunity to discover the magnificence of Henry VIII’s favourite royal residence, Hampton Court Palace. There are many things to see including Henry VIII’s Great Hall, the beautiful Chapel Royal, Henry VIII’s kitchens, William III’s apartments, the Kitchen Garden and the beautiful Hampton Court Gardens.
Monday: We bid a fond farewell to the hotel staff as we head back this morning to Hugglescote, arriving back late afternoon.
