Discover the secrets of Pembrokeshire as we travel across coast and country to visit some of the area’s most famous sites. Entry to the famous Botanic Gardens and a thrilling valley train ride is included along with free time in Tenby and then St David’s for a tour of the Cathedral.
Monday: We depart the Travel Centre this morning and make our way to Wales with a stop en route. We aim to arrive at the hotel late afternoon.
Tuesday: Today we take a coastal drive into South Pembrokeshire, home to miles of beautiful beaches and bays. As we hug the coastline we stumble upon Saundersfoot Bay, a perfect spot to enjoy some sea air. Further on lies Tenby with its colourful cottages and narrow cobbled streets where we have time to grab some lunch. Afterwards, we visit Britain’s smallest city, named after the patron saint of Wales, St David’s, a real must see. A tour of the famous Cathedral will submerge you in the hundreds of years of history.
Wednesday: Today we visit the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, nestled into the landscape like a giant raindrop, home to world’s largest glasshouse. With over 500 acres of gardens we unearth the medicinal wonders of the surrounding plants. The day continues in Carmarthen where the local market will be hustling and bustling.
Thursday: This morning we take a leisurely journey northward through the heart of the Welsh Countryside, taking us to ‘Devil’s Bridge’. We board the Vale of Rheidol Railway following the cliff side taking us on a nostalgic journey twisting and turning along rugged mountain scenery. Birds of prey such as Red Kites and Buzzards can regularly be seen hovering above. After, there will be free time in Aberystwyth to stroll along its gentle curving seafront admiring the Victorian and Edwardian Terraces.
Friday: We bid a fond farewell to the hotel staff as we head back this morning to Hugglescote, arriving back late afternoon.
