Itinerary

Monday: We depart the Travel Centre this morning and make our way to Kendal, arriving at the hotel late in the afternoon.

Tuesday: Today we take a wonderful scenic trip through the heart of the lake District to the ever-popular North Lakes town of Keswick, under the shadow of Skiddaw, before continuing to England’s most beautiful lake, Ullswater, for a cruise on a ‘steamer’ from Pooley Bridge to Glennriding. We return via the narrow, but beautiful Kirkstone Pass.

Wednesday: This morning we enjoy a one-way steam train journey through the beautiful Leven Valley on the Lakeside & Haverthwaite railway, before boarding a delightful cruise along Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, from Lakeside to Bowness-on-Windermere. There we will be some free time in Bowness to explore this popular town and savour the atmosphere of this delightful town.

Thursday: We charge full steam ahead today as we make our way to the Western Lake District for a nostalgic trip back in time on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, affectionately known by the locals as ‘La’al Ratty’. Enjoy a return trip on Lakeland’s oldest and longest railway from the delightful coastal village of Ravenglass through two glorious valleys to the foot of England’s highest mountains.

Friday: In the morning we depart the hotel and head back to Hugglescote, making a stop en route, arriving back late afternoon.
