Enjoy the taste of the continent, with the familiarity of home when staying on the most southerly of the Channel islands, with its spectacular scenery and stunning beaches.
Jersey, with its Norman style farmhouses, narrow winding lanes, French street names and unspoiled landscape is really a place you can get away from it all. Whilst on the island there are lots of things to do, including discovering Jersey’s heritage, exploring castles and the Jersey War Tunnels, which tell the true story of the Occupation of Jersey during World War Two.
Please note: Although passports are not required for entry to the Channels Islands you must carry valid photo identification at check in at the ferry port. The following forms of ID are acceptable: valid passport, valid photographic driving licence or Senior Citizens card.
Those passengers that cannot walk reasonable distances will be limited in their enjoyment of this holiday. You will also be responsible for handling your own luggage.
Monday: We depart the Travel Centre in Hugglescote this morning and make our way to Poole to catch the Condor ferry over to Jersey. A local coach will transfer us from the port to the hotel.
Tuesday: Today a local coach operator will collect us from the hotel for a guided tour of the Island with a visit to the Jersey War Tunnels included. Dug deep into the hillside by forced and slave workers from nations across Europe, they now contain an underground collection of thought provoking exhibits that tell the fascinating story of Jersey’s occupation from resistance, through to starvation, then eventual liberation.
Wednesday: Today is you free day to explore all Jersey has to offer.
Thursday: Today is another free day to explore at leisure.
Friday: We bid a fond farewell to the hotel today as we make our way to the ferry port by local coach operator for our sailing back to Poole. We arrive back at the Travel Centre late this evening.
