This exhibition will be unprecedented in the UK, spanning almost 1,000 years of China’s history

Exhibited at the World Museum you will be given a glimpse into the extraordinary story of Qin Shihuangdi, the First Emperor of China. His vast burial site and tomb complex was discovered near Xi’an in North West China in 1974, and the story of the tomb’s Terracotta Warriors will be displayed alongside important artefacts and research relating to the formative years of the Chinese nation.

This exhibition will be here for the first time in more than 10 years.  These spectacular warriors from the tomb of China’s First Emperor, Qin Shihuangdi have been brought to the UK.

Friday: We depart Hugglescote this morning and head to Liverpool to meet a local guide who’ll escort you, showing the city’s main sites. After, there will be some free time to explore the city, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.

No visit to Liverpool is complete without a visit to Albert Dock, one of the country’s top heritage attractions, boasting museums, galleries, restaurants and bars. At the Dock, the Beatles Story is a huge draw for Fab Four fans, and provides a fascinating insight to the life and times of the Beatles.

Saturday: This morning we make our way to the World Museum to see the spectacular exhibition including spectacular artefacts dating from 8th century BC to the 2nd century AD, along with remarkable recent archaeological discoveries. Not only do these items shed light on the pursuit of immortality and how China’s Emperors prepared for the afterlife, but also help us to understand more about everyday life in China more than two thousand years ago.

There will also be an included 50 minute cruise on the River Mersey, famously portrayed in the chart-topping song by Gerry & the Pacemakers.
