Come face-to-face with Scotland’s spellbinding scenery as Black Watch brings you closer to the wonders of spectacular lochs and islands. You’ll be spoilt for choice of scenic treasures throughout this nine-night sailing; famous waterways and iconic landmarks, picture-perfect towns, remarkable historic sites and much more await your discovery.

The scenic delights of breathtaking Loch Lomond – one of Scotland’s most famous and sought-after natural sites – are yours to uncover from Greenock, the ‘Gateway to the Lochs’. A boat tour of Lomond – Britain’s largest expanse of freshwater – reveals elegant Victorian houses, impressive mountains such as the 974-metre-high peak of Ben Lomond, and Inchmurrin, the Loch’s largest island. On the Isle of Mull, Tobermory – with its famously colourful harbour – presents postcard-perfect photo opportunities. Stopping at this charming town also offers you the chance to take a boat tour of the Sound of Mull in search of unspoilt scenery and wonderful wildlife, before Black Watch continues on to Ullapool via the fascinating basalt columns of Fingal’s Cave and the UNESCO-listed volcanic archipelago of St Kilda, a haven for hundreds of seabird species. Once your ship drops anchor at Ullapool, you’ll be afforded time to explore this pretty town at leisure; or opt to head to Scotland’s first geopark, home to Loch Glencoul and Eas a' Chual Aluinn, Britain’s highest waterfall.

In the Orkneys, rugged landscapes and incredible historic sites beg for your exploration. During a call at Kirkwall, the archipelago’s capital, you could visit the ancient ceremonial stones of Stenness and Brodgar; or delve into centuries of fascinating history at the 5000-year-old Neolithic village of Skara Brae. St Magnus – Britain’s northernmost cathedral – is a sight to savour too. Then there’s the stunning Shetlands; Lerwick is a great base for uncovering the diverse highlights of these stunning islands, such as the remarkable Bronze Age settlement of Clickimin Broch. Be on the lookout out for famous Shetland Ponies too. Lastly, it’s on to Invergordon. Nestled within the beautiful Highlands, Invergordon is ideally situated for unforgettable tours to Loch Ness; perhaps you’ll catch a glimpse of the legendary Loch Ness monster here. Alternatively, you could seek out the historic castles of Dunrobin or Cawdor; or visit the Glenmorangie Distillery and sample traditional Scotch whisky for an authentic end to your Scottish adventure.
