Isle of Scilly & Tresco Abbey Gardens

with Roberts Travel Group

Prices from...

Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and home to 2000 islanders, the Isles of Scilly are often described as 'a world apart,' a world where daily life is governed by the tides and the weather. With hardly any traffic and quite extraordinary natural beauty, there can be no better place to unwind as you explore the Isles of Scilly. Isles each have their very own character and distinctive landscape.

Please note:  Valid proof of identity is required to travel on the Scillonian III. This can be passport, photographic driving licence, citizen card, bus pass issued by your local council or a signed credit or bank card.

Those passengers that cannot walk reasonable distances will be limited in their enjoyment of this holiday and you will be responsible for handling your own luggage to and from the hotel as we don’t take our on coach onto the Island.

Lying 28 miles off Land's End, the Isles of Scilly are a uniquely beautiful archipelago of more than a hundred islands, only five of which are inhabited.

Sunday: We depart Hugglescote this morning and make our way to the Duke of Gordon Hotel, Plymouth with stops en route. We aim to arrive at the hotel late afternoon.

Monday: We set out early this morning on our coach to make our way to Penzance for our crossing over to St Marys on the Isles of Scilly Steamship. This is where our coach leaves us as we make the 2 hours 45 minute journey over to the Island. We stay at the Bell Rock Hotel, St Marys for the next 4 nights. A luggage transfer will be provided by a local operator whilst we make the 5 minute walk to the hotel.

Tuesday: Spend the day exploring Hugh Town, the island’s ‘capital’. It is situated between two beaches and is home to a variety of shops, art and craft galleries and restaurants. This afternoon, enjoy a stroll along the Garrison walls high above the town or simply relax on Portcressa or Town Beach.

Wednesday: We depart the hotel this morning for a visit to Tresco Abbey Gardens by boat

Please note: After you disembark the boat, there will be a walk of approximately 5-10 minutes, at a leisurely pace to the gardens.

Thursday: Another day at leisure enjoying the nature trails and coastal paths of St Mary’s.

Friday: Sadly it is time to leave the tranquility of the island and head for the ferry terminal, where once again we make the journey over to the mainland. We make our way to the Jurys Inn, Plymouth.

Saturday: We depart the hotel and make our way back to Hugglescote, making a stop en route.
