England Scotland & Ireland
Enjoy breathtaking views all day and every day from Loch Lomond to the Western Coastline and the ‘Land of Islands’ of Wester Ross and the picturesque fishing town of Ullapool. From here we have included a day cruise and guided tour of the Outer Hebrides, with sunset dinner on board. We will also visit Scotland’s most famous garden before heading south with an overnight in the @Big Tree County’ of Perthshire.
Our Itinerary Includes:
Tuesday: We depart Hugglescote early this morning and make our way to Crianlarich, a small village located just off the famous West Highland Way, and at the foot of spectacular mountains like Ben More, Cruach Ardrain and An Caisteal, arriving at the Crianlarich Hotel in time for dinner.
Wednesday: After breakfast, we pass Arrochar which hugs the shoreline of Loch Lomond and head for the ancient town of Inveraray, The Gateway to the Highlands. We have time to explore Inveraray with time for lunch before heading back to our hotel to freshen up before dinner.
Thursday: After breakfast, we head north for Fort William, passing countless lochs with a stop at Eilean Donan Castle - recognised as one of the most iconic images of Scotland all over the world. Situated on an island at the point where three great sea lochs meet, and surrounded by some majestic scenery, it is little wonder that the castle is now one of the most visited and important attractions in the Scottish Highlands. The coastline then unfolds heading into Wester Ross with dramatic coastal views of the islands. Loch Maree is viewed as one of Scotland’s most picturesque lochs. We enjoy free time in the coastal village of Gairloch before completing the journey to Ullapool, arriving at our hotel, the Royal Hotel in time for dinner.
Friday: After breakfast, we head south from Ullapool passing the dizzying depths of Corrieshalloch Gorge. As we travel along the road to Poolewe we enjoy great sea views over golden beaches and green, rocky islands. We visit Inverewe Gardens – the most famous of Scotland’s gardens, warmed by the Gulf Stream which is able to sustain plants from many temperate regions of the world. We head back to our hotel in time for dinner.
Saturday: A fabulous day awaits, as after breakfast, we board the ‘Loch Seaforth’ ship as foot passengers for the 2 hour sailing to the Outer Hebrides and Stornaway, arriving at 1330hrs. Our private coach with experienced guide will take you on a wonderful tour of the island visiting the 5000 year old Callanish Standing Stones, the ancient ‘Blackhouses’, fortified 2000 year old Carloway Broch and a Tweed Mill. We return on the sunset cruise back to Ullapool, with a dinner on board, arriving back at the hotel at 2200hrs.
Sunday: After breakfast, we make the sweeping drive across open moorlands where we arrive in Inverness for a stop, where we take a short detour to see Loch Ness with photo opportunities before heading south through Speyside and into Perthshire for our final night stay.
Monday: After breakfast, we head south, making a stop for lunch before arriving back into Leicestershire.
