Staying in the beautiful Redworth Hall

Durham is a sweeping emerald canvas with breath-taking dales, a dramatic coastline, a vale steeped in history and a vibrant city at its heart.

Visit the city and admire the imposing Cathedral and Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Relax on a riverside walk or river cruise or enjoy a spot of city-centre shopping.

Explore breath-taking views as we journey through the Durham Dales, a peaceful and tranquil landscape of moors and hills, valleys and meandering rivers, dotted with picturesque villages and market towns. We visit The Bowes Museum - a magnificent French-style château and a jewel in the heart of the historic market town of Barnard Castle. Housing internationally significant collections of fine and decorative arts, the Museum was purpose built in the 19thC by wealthy businessman John Bowes and his French actress wife Josephine.

No visit to the North East would be complete without visiting Beamish: The Living Museum of the North. The world famous open air museum tells the story of the north east of England in the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian periods. Enjoy rides on the restored trams and replica buses and see attractions including a working farm, an authentic town street, the colliery village and traditional coal fired Fish & Chip Shop.

Our Itinerary Includes:

A full day visiting Beamish Open Air Museum. The world famous museum is a living, working experience of life as it was in the great north in Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian times.
